Meghan ‘May’ will facilitate this Healing Fern workshop at Amelia Island's coziest Yoga studio in historic downtown Fernandina Beach, Centred on Yoga. What is Ayurveda? Ayur = life and Veda= wisdom/science. It is known as the "Science of Life”, or the "Mother of all Healing", and is the beautiful sister science to Yoga. Ayurveda was created around 5,000 years ago and is a nature based approach to healing that we can still apply in our modern day lives. It helps us find the best way to improve our life with all its varying phases.
You’re encouraged to meet yourself where you are during this workshop and honor your wellness journey as we dive into everything Ayurveda! You’ll learn inspiring ways to look at your health and explore your inner wisdom through the lens of Ayurveda. Learn healthy ways to “fill your cup” through these ancient self-care practices and traditions. You’re invited to come as you are and learn the countless benefits of Ayurvedic wisdom traditions.
What to expect: We'll focus on basic Ayurveda fundamentals that help establish healthy daily habits to live a meaningful life according to your unique mind/body constitution (Prakruti & Dosha). You’ll be able to figure yours out through an Ayurvedic Questionnaire that we’ll send to you after you’re signed up for the workshop. Please complete it within 2 days of signing up. *there will be an opportunity to list any food or plant allergies.
Towards the end of the workshop, we'll practice a short Dosha inspired yoga asana sequence. Light snacks and hot tea will also be provided for you to enjoy during the workshop.
What to wear: Comfortable yoga clothes *what you’d wear to a gentle flow yoga asana class)
What to bring: Your yoga mat, any personal props you’d like to use (we’ll have extra props at the studio as well), notebook and a pen - we’ll be journaling!, a full water bottle, or Centred on Yoga has a fridge with boxed water to purchase and there’s a coffee shop across the street as well.
What you go home with: A better understanding of Ayurvedic wisdom traditions and how you can easily incorporate these practices into your daily self-care rituals. You will also receive: a reusable tea sachet filled with ready to go Ayurvedic herbs and spices that promote digestion, two Ayurvedic oil samples from Banyan Botanicals (one for massage and one for oil pulling), a yoga asana sequence dedicated to your Dosha, as well as some nourishment and recipe ideas.
